Are you trying to drive traffic in order to sell a product? Trying to grow an audience, mailing list or community? Trying to develop yourself as a writer or creator? Trying to spread awareness of a cause or subject you're passionate about?Įach of these purposes have their own needs, and simply taking a moment to consider what you're hoping to achieve can help make your content calendar more useful and tailored to your needs. To set yourself a schedule 'simply because content schedules are good' is rarely a good approach instead, it's always helpful to step back and ask what exactly it is you're hoping to achieve with your content. Content purpose: When you're in content planning mode, it can be easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. Whatever the bar setting a quality standard for your content will help you plan your content calendar more realistically-so that you don't set yourself unachievable goals, then sacrifice on quality in order to meet them. That might be as simple as letting each article sit for 24 hours before publishing-giving yourself a chance to review the piece with a fresh pair of eyes, and avoiding any hurried or rushed publications. Every business and project is different and each should settle upon a clear bar or standard of quality that must be met before hitting publish. Quality: It's one thing to set yourself a 20 article target-another to actually deliver on that content. The frequency of creating and publishing these posts will depend on some other factors though-time (or cost) needed and quality being primary among them. In your research, you're confident that each targeted keyword article can bring you 500 page visits per month working backwards from our goal of 10,000/month, you can quickly see that 20 published articles are needed. When it comes to working backwards, an example might look like this: Suppose you'd like to eventually drive 10K visitors/month to your site, and that you'd like to focus on organic SEO as your strategy. The second approach, on the other hand, can be more forgiving and suitable to side hustles, passion projects and personal blogs where the real objective is the creative and publishing process itself. The first approach is typically best when your content has a clear business goal or monetization objective. 1) Work backwards from some clear target or business-related goals to discover how much content is needed 2) Set yourself a clear process goal to hold yourself accountable. Publishing frequency: There are two approaches you can take to determining your publishing frequency. Let's take a quick look at some guidance on each of the above. If you've already spent some time fleshing out a content strategy, many of these questions will answer themselves.

These forces-compression, shearing, and tension-are caused by different loads to which a structure is subjected. Now, to look at Lego bricks as a building material, picture a Lego skyscraper and measure the brick’s strength against the forces that architects and engineers design buildings, bridges, and other structures to withstand. The friction between the top stud of one brick and the interior tubes of the brick atop it hold the pieces together, but not so much that they’re impossible to pull apart. The ABS is semi-pliable, allowing bricks to fit together using a friction-dependent connection called a snap fit. This precision makes them a reliable and efficient construction material. “Lego bricks are very precisely made,” says Barnaby Gunning, the London-based architect who designed May’s house. Through play, the Young Mayors at our summer camps learn more about the world and themselves.Lego bricks are made out of a hard plastic called acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) with a manufacturing tolerance of roughly 0.01mm. By reaching their LEGO building goals, the Young Mayors set themselves up to reach other important milestones as well!Īt Kidizens, play-based learning is at the heart of everything that we do! Play greatly improves the social and emotional well-being of children. Completing a building project provides an immense sense of accomplishment! Turning a random pile of LEGO bricks into a functioning grocery store or power plant is a magical transformation that inspires kids to take on challenges in the real world. One of the many great things about LEGO is that you can make pretty anything if you are creative enough!ĥ) Self-Confidence. Kidizens summer campers tinker, create, and imagine endless possibilities. The world of LEGO is limitless! The only limit is a child’s imagination. Problem solving, thinking outside the box, and the resilience required to push past setbacks is an important part of the LEGO building process.Ĥ) Creative Thinking. Or maybe the LEGO pieces just aren’t quite fitting together to form the project that a summer camper envisioned in their mind. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan! Maybe the tall skyscraper falls down and it needs to be rebuilt. They need to compromise, share, and work together in order to build the best city possible!ģ) Problem Solving and Perseverance. No LEGO city can be built alone! The Young Mayors work together with the Co-Mayors to construct their town. Working with LEGO pieces requires coordination and precision! This is especially important for our younger campers, but is a valuable skill for LEGO builders of all ages!Ģ) Teamwork and Cooperation. Here are 5 important skills that children learn from LEGO:ġ) Fine Motor Skill Development. We have found that there is a profound personal connection that the summer campers have with their LEGO creations, having built their entire city from the ground up themselves! The LEGO blocks are very familiar tools for our Young Mayors that are used in interesting and creative ways that reinforce the concepts being internalized at camp. There are many play-based elements that we weave throughout the day at Kidizens Summer Camps! Children are naturally motivated to play and we use that drive to instill lifelong skills! There are interactive quizzes, epic adventures, and LEGO competitions as the campers engage with the world around them through play!ĭoes playing with LEGOs benefit early childhood development? We think so! At Kidizens, we believe that the magic of LEGO is a unique tool that can be utilized to aid in the social-emotional development of our summer campers. Learning can and should be fun! Studies have shown that play-based learning is one of the top benefits of summer camp for children. Let’s look at the same data again, but with tips included. I have my old favorite Nvidia drivers backed up on another drive and if there's nothing else for me to try, I might try that next, but it's a whole thing so I've been putting it off. If I have to run this windowed I will, because for the most part, I don't notice screen tearing that way, though it's not any smoother than my very old, non-gaming laptop is in windowed mode so it still feels not quite right). I've been researching this everywhere and tried everything that wasn't too invasive. This morning I did the trick of getting my graphics card "recognized" the way Igazor showed me before, but still the screen tearing. I've also tried capping it at 59 and 58, just to be sure. My game is definitely not going over 60 fps. In Windows and in Nvidia CP I set the game to use the Nvidia GPU so that the settings should "take". I even used the Nvidia Profile Inspector to force vsync and limit the FPS, just in case. I did the things, updated my Nvidia driver, set the FPS, vsync on, triple buffering on (I don't remember my previous Nvidia settings beyond that). I can deal with doing that (though I wish I didn't have to). The darkness can be sort of fixed by changing resolution and then changing it back, most of the time. And the game is really dark, like it's perpetual dusk, except its on the main menu and UI too. it rolls like a wave from bottom to top of the screen as I move the camera around. I didn't have a chance to do that, because Windows wanted to do a second round of updates a few hours later, I guess to get it all the way current, and that's when "disaster" struck. No issues that I could see, though I looked forward to bringing in my old options file to get my settings just right. When I first set up the laptop and let it do the first round of Windows updates, the game looked really good. I'm naive that way.īut Windows updates and drivers, though. Now, I'm very grateful to have had somebody sell me a decent gaming laptop that is very similar to my deceased laptop, and I honestly thought I would be able to jump right in. Basically, I eventually found the Nvidia driver verson I liked and never updated it, never changed the settings, and it was great.
